Our StoryWe've learned a lot in the years since "The Team" kicked off in 1984, particularly that you can't afford to stand still. Today we're one of New Zealand's premier manufacturers of "Long Life Protective Coatings". We are fortunate enough to have built a team of extremely capable individuals to continually drive our coating technologies, product lines and Research & Development to the market with absolute precision.
The CFG Group have a long association with coatings, the founder Cavan Forde has always been very passionate about coatings and therefore it has always formed the core of Group. It all started back in the early eightees when Cavan built up a National roof coatings Distribution network trading under the name of High Tec Industries. High Tec was built up to become Carter Holt Harveys largest Distributor of their range of roof coatings. After a failed takeover of CHH roof coating division, Cavan went out on his own manufacturing Acrylic based coating systems.
 The mid 1990's saw
CFG move into the concrete business in which they set up a Nationwide Distribution Network
for Hebel, a lightweight Autoclaved Aerated Concrete product with excellent insulation, fire
proofing and sound transmission blocking capabilities. This product came with a big environmentally
friendly tag which followed Cavan's vision to build an environmentally friendly masonry building
system from the inside of the building to the final coat of paint. Many years later New Zealands
Department of Building and Housing recognised this dream issuing CFG with an Accreditation of the
system, the only one of its kind in New Zealand.
The Supercoat range of products were initially developed for use over Hebel and later Supercrete products. The diversity of Supercoat's Acrylic technologies allowed it to be developed for Roof Coating, Internal/External walls, Waterproofing agents and Acrylic Textures and Base coats. Our ApproachWe offer a comprehensive approach to supporting the innovation initiatives required by the coatings industry. Our model is grounded in our deep history of Research & Development, and balanced with over 25 years of collaborative work which has been added to by many of the worlds leading experts in the field of applied acrylic coatings.

Supercoat technologies are backed by qualified paint chemists who have vast experience in various sectors of the paint industry. An ongoing modernization policy is adopted with regard to equipment and procedures. We are also in contact via electronic means, with several major players and organizations in the global market.
